Hoover was not nearly the bad President that a lot of Liberals make him out to be - in fact a fair number of his ideas were later adopted by FDR in service of battling the Great Depression. Hoover was a supremely intelligent guy who made some bad decisions and had some terrible luck. Okay, and also he was an unapolagetic corporatist, um, and a fairly appaling racist.So yeah, he wasnt one of the best...
